Morning Glory (up close & personal)
We ate morning glory almost every day. With raw vegetables hard to come by, this cooked green saved my life when I was craving veggies... those red hot peppers hidden among the greens gave me a very teary surprise!
-
Crab and Peppercorns
This is another typical Khmer dish. The crab was sweet and succulent. The green peppercorns are for eating whole. They are spicy, but amazingly delicious and a great compliment to any other Khmer dish. I peeled a few sprigs of these and topped my other food with whole peppercorns.

Market Noodles
It's good to be cautious about food served in the marketplace (to protect your naiive digestive tract), but I have a weakness for adventure and I had to get some market food! This delicious bowl of noodle soup was warm and flavorful and only cost $1.00!
Loved it.

Market Noodles #2
I wouldn't say I have the strongest stomach in the world, but I had no problem with these delicious bowls of soup in the marketplace. They served their soup hot and fresh! Khmers LOVE their soup and just look at all the tasty veggies.

Cucumbers and Mango Salad
Mango salad is one of my favorites - fresh, tart and crunchy.
-
Tofu & Bean Sprouts
We wanted a vegetarian dish, and though we ordered tofu (or "bean cake" according to Khmers), it was still made with ground pork. Tasty though!
-
Tom Yum soup ("stolen" from Thailand)
This soup was ordered on more than one occasion. Khmers are pretty good at making Thai fair... especially if its soup!
-
Dragon Fruit and Lychee
I love all the tropical fruit in Cambodia - I alternated between dragon fruit, papaya and mango for breakfast.

Produce in the Market
Fresh market fair: taro root, lemon gress, greens, pineapple...
-
Night Market
Food everywhere and all the time. Street food is usually cooked (not raw)... probably for food safety.
-
Prawns?
OK, I didn't eat these little critters, but they were beautiful to look at. Are they glowing!?

Infused Water
I thought this was diluted coconut water, my friends thought it was roasted bulgar water... then we asked... it was water flavored by this green plant. We don't know the English name for it. I drank as much as they'd give me.
